چکیده

Continental earthquakes, especially shallow can cause disasters in populated areas. On 20 May 2016, a moderate magnitude earthquake (Mw 6.0) ruptured on Northern Territory of Australia. With the aim seismic hazard assessment, coseismic and postsesmic deformation Petermann has been determined using ALOS-2 ascending Sentinel-1A descending images. The field suggests that NNW direction with length about km, rake angle 57.1° moment Mw 6.06. maximum slip 1.31 m be observed at depth 1.25 km. small baseline subset (SBAS) InSAR was utilized to obtain postseismic from 69 images orbit. spatiotemporal evolution presents gradually decaying trend, displacement 5.4 cm within 858 days after mainshock. Our afterslip model 0.28 occurred 0.25 km slight shift northwest compared slip. static Coulomb failure stress (CFS) changes various depths were calculated, indicating consistency between high loaded zones aftershock distribution.

GRACE detects coseismic and postseismic deformation from the Sumatra-Andaman earthquake

[1] We show that spherical harmonic (SH) solutions of the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) are now of sufficient quality to observe effects of co-seismic and post-seismic deformation due to the rupture from the Mw = 9.3 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake on December 26, 2004, and its companion Nias earthquake (Mw = 8.7) on March 28, 2005. The improved GGM 03 SH (Level 2) solutions, and i...

Coseismic Deformation from the 1999 Mw 7.1 Hector Mine, California, Earthquake as Inferred from InSAR and GPS Observations

We use interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and Global Positioning System (GPS) observations to investigate static deformation due to the 1999 Mw 7.1 Hector Mine earthquake, that occurred in the eastern California shear zone. Interferometric decorrelation, phase, and azimuth offset measurements indicate regions of surface and near-surface slip, which we use to constrain the geometry...

Coseismic and postseismic deformation of the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake constrained by GRACE gravimetry

[1] Spaceborne gravimetry data from the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) are processed using spatio-spectral Slepian localization analysis enabling the high-resolution detection of permanent gravity change associated with both coseismic and postseismic deformation resulting from the great 11 March 2011 Mw 9.0 TohokuOki earthquake. The GRACE observations are then used in a geophys...

The 1999 (Mw 7.1) Hector Mine, California Earthquake: Near-Field Postseismic Deformation from ERS Interferometry

Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data over the area of the Hector Mine earthquake (Mw7.1, 16 October 1999) reveal postseismic deformation of several centimeters over a spatial scale of 0.5 to 50 km. We analyzed seven SAR acquisitions to form interferograms over four time periods after the event. The main deformation seen in the line-of-sight (LOS) displacement maps are a region ...
